Through the Corporate Social Responsibility, East African plant hire embarked on the completion of the construction of Saint Pauls Nyakakindo Nursery and Primary school
With the help of the Hima local authorities and the community leaders the project commenced.
Initially the school was started out by the community but due to meagre resources, progress was very minimal
East African Plant Hire actually came in at an opportune time when the school was in dire need of external help
In essence, the school which consists of a one by two classroom block, had no doors and windows
The f loors were not done and learners were actually sitting on the floor as they
were being taught.
Community Reaction /Involvement
The community received this project with mixed feelings.
There was alot of doubt and scepticism as to whether East African Plant Hire can actually do this project. Some companies that came before EAPH started doing something on this very school but failed to honour their promises of completing the construction. Some came to question why EAPH was doing the project and what was in it for them. Eventually we won the hearts of the local Authorities and and the community leaders who gave us guidance and cooperated with us up to the completion of the project.
